Poetry Africa Festival
In 2009, more than twenty poets are going to convene to participate in the thirteenth Poetry Africa international poetry festival. Taking place in Durban, these poets, who are coming from South Africa as well as other locations on the African continent will be gathering between October 5th and October 10th to share their work with each other and with interested visitors. Some of the events that are planned include readings, book-launches, music, and performances and the programme only continues to grow. During the day, you can enjoy seminars, workshops and even open mic opportunities. As in previous years, the Poetry Africa Festival will end with a festival finale at the BAT Centre on Saturday. In past years, guests have included Nassuf Djailani, Carlos Andres Gomez, Anton Krueger, Mak, Godessa, Rogerio Manjate, and Bantu Mwuara.
